Hsinchu Clubhouse

New build Clubhouse forming part of our Masterplan for the Hsinchu Stone Village

Hsinchu, Taiwan
2011–2012
Sector: Leisure & Sport
Client: Taiwan Land Development Corporation
Project Status: Current

The clubhouse forms a break in the landscape between the hotel to the north, and villas and apartments to the south, joining the anti gorge to the camellia valley in the west. It is seen as a series of staggered blocks growing out of the landscape and is surrounded by abstract bodies of water, like a rock set in the middle of a river.

Internally the clubhouse looks either to the east or the west in order to maintain privacy to the hotel and villas. The views out are framed individually for each space and focus on the creation of an atmosphere of retreat and relaxation from the bigger world. A Presidential Suite on the upper floors provides a luxurious  antidote to living in the city, a tower like space for private escape. The lower floors contain a restaurant, bar and banqueting space for corporate or private entertainment.
